What makes your practice unique?
I take a direct, results-driven approach to therapy. My goal isn’t just to help you talk through problems—I focus on giving you practical tools to take control of your mental health. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or performance-related challenges, I tailor therapy to your needs so you can move forward with clarity and confidence.
What sets me apart is my extensive experience across multiple areas of psychology, including general psychotherapy, sports psychology, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP), which I offer both in-person and remotely. My background goes beyond clinical training—I have firsthand experience in high-level athletics as a black belt, instructor, and international referee, allowing me to deeply understand the mental and physical demands athletes face. I’ve also worked as a wilderness guide, giving me unique insight into resilience, challenge, and personal growth in extreme conditions.
As a person in my 60’s, I understand the concerns that come with aging, especially for those who have built their identity around physical performance. Whether you’re an athlete, a professional under high pressure, or someone looking for a new way to approach mental health, I offer therapy that is practical, effective, and built around real-life experience.
What issues do you treat?
I work with adults and adolescents dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and major life transitions. I also specialize in performance-related concerns, including sports psychology for athletes facing pressure, injury recovery, or transitioning out of competition. Additionally, I provide ketamine-assisted psychotherapy preparation and integration for individuals seeking new approaches to mental health.
Do you offer a complimentary consultation?
Yes, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your needs and see if we’re a good fit. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions and get a sense of my approach before committing to therapy.
Do you offer in-person therapy?
Yes, I see clients in person at my office in Sacramento, CA. If you prefer face-to-face sessions, I’m happy to accommodate.
Do you provide online therapy?
Yes, I offer secure online therapy for residents of California and Oregon. Virtual sessions allow for flexibility and accessibility while maintaining the same level of care as in-person sessions.
What modalities do you use?
I use a combination of evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness techniques, psychodynamic interventions, and solution-focused therapy. My approach is tailored to your individual needs, ensuring therapy is practical, effective, and aligned with your goals.
Do you take insurance?
I do not accept insurance, but I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. Please check with your insurance company to see if they offer out-of-network benefits.
What are your rates?
My standard rate is $205 per session. I understand that therapy is an investment, and I want to make it as accessible as possible. I offer a sliding scale based on financial need—please reach out to discuss options.
What are your hours?
My hours are flexible, but I generally see clients during the following times:
- Monday: 3 PM – 6 PM
- Wednesday: 5 PM – 8 PM
- Thursday: 4 PM – 8 PM
- Friday: 4 PM – 7 PM
- Sunday
If you need a different time, let me know—I do my best to accommodate scheduling needs.
Will I be stuck in therapy forever?
No. My goal is to help you get results, not keep you in therapy indefinitely. Some clients benefit from short-term therapy focused on specific challenges, while others prefer ongoing support. We’ll discuss your goals and create a plan that works for you.
